How Important is the Presentation of your Airbrush Tattoo Setup?

This is a question not often asked, but it should be! Presentation is a vital part of any business, no matter what you are doing. And specially with airbrush tattoos. Your stand should represent the quality of work that you produce.

A short while ago, a friend came up to me and told me that I should upgrade my stand. I gave him a cold stare and said, "What for?? My stand is great!" It displays my airbrush tattoo designs, my prices, and is very easy to setup.

I didn't take his advice, but I had been planning a few changes and trying to work in somewhere I could place a couple more design boards.

So a few months down the track, I did actually upgrade. My new stand was neat and tidy, (much cleaner looking than my old one) and with the changes I made, I could add my new signs and make it even easier to setup.

Now, this really shouldnt have made much of a difference in my eyes, because all I'd done was go from one stand to another, and the general look wasn't that much different.

The following weekend, I made more than I had in the 2 weeks before put together!

Why?

Through discussions with my friend and by asking him why he came to the conclusion that I needed to upgrade my stand, he mentioned that, although my stand was very good, and easy to setup, it wasn't as nice as when I'd originally built it.

I'd had this stand for 2 years, and hadn't even noticed that it was depreciating. The reason for this, is that I was looking at it everyday, I had gotten used to seeing the dented corners, and small markings on it over a period of time. Very much like you don't even notice the hair on your head growing until it needs to be cut.

So, the presentation of your airbrush tattoo stand is VERY important, well from my experience anyway. Of equal importance, is how you display your stand, and what signage you use.

The signs you display should be easy on the eye, grab your customer's attention, and above all get the message that you want across to the public.

• What type of tattoos do you offer?
• How much are your tattoos?
• How long will they last?
• How long do they take to apply?

All of these things should be displayed at your stand. If they are not, then you are just making things harder on yourself, as you will have to tell every single potential customer the details.

Another thing you should think about, is how you present yourself also. Would you buy a car from a salesman, that is wearing shorts and a singlet? No, neither would I! This is why you should appear friendly, clean, and professional. Make the people working for you wear a uniform! That is a great way to make your stand look the part.

Above all, enjoy yourself, have a laugh, and you'll be busy all day long!
