Tip - How to use Multiple Jars

Badger Model 155 Anthem Airbrush Kit model 155

Sometimes, you'll find that people just don't want to get coloured tattoos! I know, I know, sound ridiculous doesn't it! But I'm sure we've all had days where it just seemed like everybody wants a standard black tattoo. I personally prefer to do only black tattoos.

• They look more realistic than coloured ones.
• They take less time to do, (more customers flowing through)
• You don't have to take out extra airbrushes, to keep up with the multiple colours.

Actually that last point was my entire reason for writing this. Cleaning your airbrushes is just a task that we all have to do at the end of the day. You can't avoid it, you just have to grin and bare it.

But, why use all those airbrushes, when you don't need to?

Seriously ask yourself these following questions and then tell yourself whether or not you really need to setup 10 airbrushes at the beginning of the day.

• How many colours do you actually use in a day?
• What percentage of your customers actually want or ask for colours?
• Do you need to have other colours beside the standard Primary colours available?

At the most, if you are only using Black, and the main primary colours, you will only ever need to setup 4-5 airbrushes at the most. And that is only if every customer is getting every colour! Heres a tip that will save you a lot of time, cleaning, doing colours etc....

USING MULTIPLE JARS WITH ONE AIRBRUSH

• When applying airbrush tattoos, only setup one airbrush at the beginning of the day.
• Make sure you carry a few extra jars with caps. About 5 or 6 should do the trick.

• Alternate between jars, by removing one jar when finished with a colour, spraying out the excess and putting in another jar. And you're onto the next colour.

• Only use "Primary" colours, (red, blue, yellow, black, white) and layer your colours so that you are getting your extra colours out of your primary ones. For example. If you want Green, spray some yellow down first, and follow up with a light coat of blue. If you want Orange, spray some yellow down first, and follow up with a light coat of red. You'll never have to buy green or orange paint ever again!

If you only have a few customers that want colour during the day, these tips will :

1) Save you time cleaning airbrushes,
2) Save you even having to buy extra colours of paint.
3) Bump your customer flow through rate, by double, and the end result is that you'll make more money by the end of the day, because you've managed to get through more customers.

Bottom line, you'll save yourself money, you'll make yourself more money, and you'll have half of the cleaning at the end of the day!
